Where do animals go when they die? They go to a place we call "The Rainbow Bridge'. What is the Rainbow Bridge like? It is a place where there are meadows and hills and all creatures can run and play together to their heart's content. There is plenty of sunshine, our fellow creatures are warm and comfortable. All the creatures who had been ill and old are restored to health and strength; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole again. Our companions are just as we remember them in days gone by, even more perfect! They are happy and content, except for one small thing; our pets each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, animals that once were enemies now play together because there is no need for food anymore. But the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Their bright eyes are intent; their eager body quivers. Suddenly they begin to run from the group, flying over the green grass, their legs carrying them faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.... Original author unknown...
